Here are the main slides I used in our little workshop on ‘Getting your research published’ (with one or two additional slides). Huesca (73)I really enjoyed visiting Huesca and being at your conference, and the wonderful song that ended the conference.
Preston College: 27th September
Here are the main slides I used in my day with you (minus pictures and links) in a PowerPoint 2007 file in a zipped folder. Well done those of you who stayed with me for the whole day. Preston College (103)
University of Oxford: September 21st
Here are the main slides I used in our ‘Getting Published’ workshop, in a PowerPoint 2007 file in a zipped folder (not necessarily in the same order as my ‘dip and dive’ approach). You were a great group, and I look forward to seeing the fruits of your research in print. Oxford (99)
RGU: 20th September
Here is a combination version of the main slides I used in our morning and afternoon workshops, minus the pictures and silly bits. The slides are in a PowerPoint 2007 file in a zipped folder. I’d love to come back and address some of the factors about assessment and feedback which arose in passing – Friday November 4th would be good for me. RGU 2011 (86).
University of Limerick: 15th-16th September
Here are the main slides I used in our first 3-hours together, on 15th Sept (minus the pictures and links). Remember that the slides contain the details of how and when your work on the module will be assessed. University of Limerick: 15th Sep (121). Now back home in Newcastle; here are the remaining slides – lots of them – not necessarily in the order we used them. I look forward to your assignments. All best wishes, Phil Limerick: Assessment Module 2 (106).
Waterford Institute: 14th September
Here are the main slides I used in our short exploration of ways of linking learning outcomes to assessment. The slides about factors underpinning successful learning are downloadable from the main downloads page of this website. It’s a pity there were only five of you for a topic as vital as this one to refreshing the curriculum, but good luck in spreading the word. Waterford 2011 (94). And now from Limerick, here are the slides which Sally and I used in our session on Teaching Portfolios Teaching Portfolios (93).

Well done, all at Huddersfield, for doing so excellently in the assessment and feedback areas of this year’s NSS – more strength to your elbows. Here are the main slides I used at my keynote, with a few extra (to get you to look right through all of them again, of course). Lovely audience, thanks. Huddersfield (210)

University of Aalborg: 31st August 2011
Here are the main slides we used at our workshop, in a PowerPoint 2007 file in a zipped folder. I had to remove the pictures and funny bits or the file size would have been too big. You were a great group to work with. Also, you’ve got me thinking; there ARE advantages to a series of blackboards, in that you can have lots of different things in sight at the same time for students – something one can’t do with a single screen. The trouble with any slide is ‘now you see it, next it’s gone’. Aalborg 2011 August (133)
Summer Holidays
After travelling around for what seems to be months, we’re staying put for the first half of August in Newcastle, with odd trips here and there, not least Edinburgh Zoo by train with our granddaughter Poppy (who will soon be two). Then for the second half of August we’re off with friends on a boat between St Petersburg and Moscow, and will be out of email contact or internet for nearly two weeks – this will seem strange – but really looking forward to seeing a few of the places I’ve known about for so long with my interest in Russian music. So this website won’t have anything new on it probably till September.
Great Yarmouth College: 19th July
Here are the main slides I used in our busy short workshop, with two or three extra slides (work out which these are) in a PowerPoint 2007 file in a zipped folder. It was great working with you. Great Yarmouth College 2011 (199)

Here are the main slides we used on our afternoon together, as a PowerPoint 2007 file in a zipped folder. I removed the pictures and links to compress the file size a bit.
