The future of our planet depends little on the information we provide to our students. It depends rather more on the knowledge we allow students to develop through their experience. But it depends much more on the wisdom we encourage our students to develop through their knowledge.
How to get wisdom? Assess it, not just information or knowledge, e.g. in exams, at interviews, in assignments, everywhere.
